Active Listening Skills  Are you able to give full attention to what others are saying?  Do you typically invest the time in others permitting you to fully understand their meaning?  Can you ask questions as appropriate without interrupting at inappropriate times? 

Writing Skills  Are your writing skills effective?  Can you communicate your message with clarity and ease?  Can you write succinctly?  Does your writing possess both clarity and conviction?  Are you able to tailor your writing to the needs and abilities of the audience?

Critical Thinking  Are you able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions?  Can you suspend judgment when examining the validity of a proposition or action?  Can you factor in multiple perspectives?  Can you re-evaluate a decision when presented with new information?

Speaking  Are you comfortable speaking to people, both individually and to a group?  Can you speak persuasively?  Can you mirror a group’s demeanor to facilitate more effective communication? 

Active Learning  Are you a lifelong learner?  Are you comfortable with new tasks and new responsibilities?  Are you willing to take appropriate risks? 

Instructing/Training  Are you comfortable as an instructor?  Can you communicate ideas and concepts clearly?  Have you prepared and revised a lesson plan as necessary?  Can you motivate a class of diverse students?  Can you evaluate the results of your instruction?
